Mobile, while lying on the southern coast of "Alabama the Beautiful", has a natural seaport and enjoys a heritage as rich as any and all of the deep south. Mobile is not only old south, it has a history dating from the 17th Century.

Mobile is the "City of Six Flags" because six governments have controlled it. France, Great Britain and Spain ruled Mobile during the 1700's. Then the United States, the Republic of Alabama, the Confederate States of America, and again the United States flew their flags over Mobile.

The Mobile Bears have a long and storied history dating back into the days of the old Baseballs Southern Association Baseball. The Bay Bears round out the Alabama contingent playing baseball in the modern day and new era of Southern League Baseball.

Four baseball teams located and developing their talents on the baseballfarming diamonds of Alabama anchor the Southern League of baseball playing.

Commencing in the north of the state are the Huntsville Stars, then coming further south the Birmingham Barons, next we have our Montgomery Biscuits and then located way down south on the Gulf Coast and beautiful Mobile Bay is our Mobile Bay Bears.
